Good Morning!
We will be leaving Shelby, MT this morning headed to Canada and the Calgary Stampede with Fantasy RV Tours for 8 days. Then onto meet our caravan in Dawson Creek BC for our Alaska trip. So excited! However, do not know when I'll be able to post again, it might be a while! We do not have a international plan on our phones or Internet, so will not be on any sites, unless we run into free wifi service along the way. I will take LOTS of pictures and post when I can.
Yesterday we went into town to the bank and exchanged a little cash for Canadian money, FYI, their money is really pretty! Lol. The only thing we need to do this morning is fuel the rig up and the car, we were told fuel is more expensive in Canada than here in th U. S. so want to do that here in Shelby.
Tonight we are scheduled to stay at the Riverbend Campground in Okotoks Alberta then into Calgary tomorrow.
See you all when we can!

Good morning!
We are in Shelby, MT this morning at the Lewis and Clark RV Park. This is an older RV Park, but that's fine, it suits our needs with 50amp service, water and sewer hook ups. It has Internet, but like everywhere else, it's a little spotty. The campsites are set up a little different, kind of in the round, which makes no sense, but if you saw an overhead picture, you would understand. The great thing about this campground, is, it's only about 30 miles from the Canadian border, where we will be headed to tomorrow. My posts will be nonexistent after tomorrow morning because I don't have a Canadian phone/internet plan. Basically, you won't hear from me until we get into Alaska the middle of July, hopefully.
Yesterday, we traveled from Helena, MT to Shelby, MT in about 3 hours, with a few stops along the way. Mileage was 163 miles
Shelby, MT is a small town, with a lot of railroad tracks! Not much else there there. A grocery store, Albertsons, a couple of banks, a movie theater, gas stations and a really big Subway. Oh and there are a lot of bars/clubs, lol.
Will explore the area a little more today and see what we can see!

It's a beautiful day! I feel LOT'S better! WooHoo!
Yesterday was a fairly long traveling day. We traveled from Hardin, MT to Helena, MT where we are staying at the Lincoln RD RV Park. We had actually stayed at this park last year while on our Lewis and Clark caravan with Fantasy RV and decided that since we were in this area again to stop here and spend the night. It's a nice, clean RV Park where the office staff go out of their way to help you out. There are some back in's but mostly pull through's and no tent camping. Our mileage yesterday was 290 miles in about 6 hours.
We stopped for lunch at the Wheat Montana Farms and Bakery. All I can say is if you get in this area, please stop and check it out! The food is great, and they sell all sorts of different breads, mixes, jellies, etc. I bought a Honey Walnut cinnamon roll that would have fed 3 people it was so big. Just a really neat place to stop and again, we had stopped there last year on our caravan with Fantasy RV and just had to stop again.
We went through 6 miles of road work on RT 287. This is mentioned because they actually tear up the whole road and you drive on the dirt/gravel through the whole 6 miles. In a motor home, that gets a little bumpy!
That's it for today, see you tomorrow!

Good morning!
We have been on the road for a week today, and I'm finally starting to feel like I might get over this sinus infection! I can actually breath this morning with out having to blow my brains out in a hundred Kleenex, lol. It's the little things in life.
Yesterday we traveled from Spearfish, SD to Hardin MT where we are staying at the Grandview Campground and RV Park in Hardin, MT. We traveled a total of 276 miles and stayed on I 90. It would have been shorter if we would have taken a different route but stayed on the Interstate. It took us 4 hours travel.
The campground that we are in is just ok, my big problem with it to start with is the terrible smell of unclean cat litter box that hits you as soon as you walk into the office, and that's saying something considering I have a sinus infection and can't smell a lot of anything. We were helped by the owner of the campground, who checked us in and escorted us to our campsite, which was a pull through since we are only staying one night. There is cable and free WiFi, but you might as well use your own WiFi because I never could sign on to theirs. I did check the laundry out, but decided to use my own washer dryer because mine is a lot cleaner even if mine is smaller. The cost to wash one load was $2.50 and to dry one load was $1.00. Sometimes I'll use a campgrounds laundry when I want to wash my sheets so I don't have to wash them in 2 loads.
There is a festival going on in town, but with me having been sick, we decided to pass on the festival and stay in and get caught up on our coach cleaning and laundry. I hate that, but I really want to start feeling better so I don't have to miss anything else on our trip.
Today we are headed to Linclon Road RV Park in Helena, MT where we will spend one night.

Yesterday was a long day. It started with me still being sick, but determined to get out and go exploring until I finally had to stop, return to our campground and call my Dr's exchange and get an antibiotic to try and feel better. This morning I still feel sick, but feel lots better than I did yesterday, thank you God!
The only place we traveled to yesterday was Deadwood, SD, where we walked around the casino's, shopped a little bit and ate lunch at Kevin Costner's casino Midnight Star. If your a fan of the actor, the restaurant is a great place to visit and see lots of his movie memorabilia. The food was good too.
Today is a travel day, the weather is supposed to start getting lots better and hopefully I'll start feeling lots better too, so I can enjoy this fantastic trip we are on.

Spearfish, SD
Yes, we have arrived! 10 minutes after we got set up at our campground, the KOA campground in Spearfish, SD the skies opened up! We watched the storm coming, and it was absolutely beautiful! However, the hail that came with that storm, had us scrambling to get our slides pulled in to contain the damage. The motorhome is fine, our car however is not so good, with plenty of hail damage. I called our insurance company to report the damage and decided to wait until we are back in the St Louis area after our Canada/Alaska trip to have any damage fixed, and hoping we don't have any more damage on this trip.
Our trip yesterday was a short one, we traveled 106 miles on I90 from Wall, SD to Spearfish, SD and it took us about 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Today, I hope we can go to Deadwood and look around the surrounding area, the weather doesn't look to promising and I'm still sick, but we will give it a go and see what happens. It's been several years since we were in this area and I loved it when we were here before so would like to explore some of the area that we didn't see last visit.
That's it for me today, I'm still trying to figure out how to post pictures on here but if you look at my Facebook page I'm posting pictures there.

Good morning!
Still fighting a cold this morning, Rod seems to be doing better than I am, which is a good thing, since he's the one driving.
Yesterday we did venture outside and did some shopping at Wall Drug. I really wanted a new piece of Black Hills Gold jewelry but just couldn't find anything that jumped up and said take me home!, so I didn't get any gold.
The highlight of the day was the drive that we took through The Badlands Loop. We had been to this area before, several years ago and it was just as amazing the second time around as it was the first time we drove through the badlands. I took lots of pictures and posted some on my Facebook page, but can't figure out how to post them on my blogger page. When I feel a little better I'll try and figure it out. There is a fee to enter a National Park, but it's nominal, and well worth any cost to see such beauty.
When we arrived back at the campground, we decided to eat dinner at the restaurant across the street from Wall Drugs, the name of the restaurant was The Catus Cafe, the food wasn't to bad, Rod had a club sandwich with fries and I had chicken tenders with a salad and baked potato, but it left a lot to be desired as far as cleanliness was concerned.
